Cancellation & termination
Need to cancel an assignment or end an ongoing engagement? Call us. This page explains the process.
Version: 6 September 2026
1. Notify us by telephone
Call +31 6 94500133 and provide your name, organisation, project or proposal reference (if available), the service concerned and your preferred end date. Make clear whether you are cancelling an assignment, terminating an ongoing engagement or exercising a statutory withdrawal right. No reason is required for a valid statutory withdrawal.
2. Confirmation and alternative contact
We record the notice and next steps to be discussed, then send written confirmation to your email address. Where relevant, this covers the end date, handover and financial settlement. A statutory right exercised validly and on time does not depend on our confirmation. If you cannot reach us by phone or prefer to notify us in writing, email contact@stanbyte.nl. Any other legally valid, unambiguous statement remains possible.
3. Business projects
Business clients do not have a general statutory right to withdraw from an assignment within 14 days without a reason. Settlement follows the agreed cancellation terms and applicable law. Completed work and previously agreed, non-cancellable third-party costs may be charged only to the extent permitted by the agreement and law. This website does not impose a separate fixed cancellation penalty.
Guidance on the statutory cooling-off period ↗4. Ongoing engagements
The duration and notice period for a dedicated team, Managed Technology or another monthly engagement are specified in the agreement. We coordinate final work, access, documentation and any handover. Calling us does not automatically end all services on the same day; the agreed and statutory rules determine the end date.
5. Consumers and withdrawal
If you conclude a distance service contract as a consumer and a statutory withdrawal right applies, you can normally withdraw within 14 days of concluding the contract without a reason. For fully performed services, this right is lost only when the legal conditions are met, including prior express consent and acknowledgement of losing the right after full performance. Custom software is not automatically exempt from all withdrawal rules.
European guidance on withdrawal rights ↗6. Work started and refunds
If you expressly request a service to begin during the cooling-off period, a proportionate amount for the service already provided may be payable on withdrawal when the legal conditions are met. A refund due following statutory withdrawal is made without undue delay and within 14 days of notification, normally using the original payment method. Any legally permitted deduction is explained. Other refunds follow the agreement and applicable law.
7. Problems with a service
Cancellation, withdrawal and a complaint are different matters. If you have a problem with delivered work, call or email us with a description so we can discuss the appropriate next steps. This procedure does not limit statutory rights to remedies, termination for breach or other relief.
